CAMPUS NEWS FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL AND MAY 2017

NEW SESSION COMMENCES

The new session for the year 2017-2018 commenced on 27th march 2017 for the students of class I to XII . A special morning assembly was conducted seeking God’s blessings for the smooth running of the school . Prayers and petitions were held to remember the founders and praying for a yet another bright year for the management ,staff , students ,their families and the leaders of our nation .

A VISIT TO MANIPAL UNIVERSITY

On 31st march 2017 , students of class XII humanities paid a visit to Manipal university , Jaipur . The students were acquainted with various courses existing i.e. Fashion Designing , Jewellery Designing , Fine and Applied Arts and Hotel Management. It was a wonderful experience exploring one of the best university in Jaipur.

WORLD HEALTH DAY

7th April , is marked as International World Health Day . To commenrate the World Health Day , a special assembly was conducted by the students of class XII . The topics covered in the morning assembly were quite informative and guided the teachers and the students how to take care of one self and lead a healthy life . The assembly concluded with practising of Zumba dance.

EASTER CELEBRATION

On 12th April , the students of class XII presented a tableau , to commemorate the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ . The message of love and sacrifice was conveyed.

CAREER COUNSELLING IN PEARL ACADEMY

The students of XII Humanities attended a workshop, ‘Career Conclave ’ conducted by Pearl Academy of design on 21st april 2017 renowned designers , architecturers guided the students by their expertise, acquainted them with various career opportunities. It was very informative session.

CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAMME

Renowed counsellors of the city Mr. Samarth, Mr. Sanjeev and Mr. Neeraj under the banner CHOPRAS , conducted a career counselling session in the school for the students of class X and XII on 25th April. The team members guided the students how to prepare for SAT ( Scholar Aptitude Test ) and many other aptitude test useful to pursue higher studies in universities of foreign countries. The session was very informative and useful to the students.

SEMINAR ON OBESITY AND DIABETES

Dr. S.K. Sharma, Endocrynologist of S.M.S Hospital visited our school on 25th April 2017 to enlighten the students about the latest lifestyles which leads to serious illness . He highlighted on the importance of physical exercises to avoid obesity. Obesity leads to disease like Diabetes . The session by Dr . S.K. Sharma was very informative as well as beneficial.

INSTITUTION DAY

Our institution was established on May 16, 1919 and the ‘ Mission Sisters of Ajmer ’ on 26th April 1911 by our most Rt. Reverend Father Henri Caumont . To commemorate the contributions laid dowm by him , we had a special assembly on the Institution Day . The students of various classes presented a skit which highlighted not only the contribution of our founders but also the work carried out by all the Sisters of the ‘ Mission Sisters Of Ajmer’ . This institution started with the aim of upliftment of women and girl child especially in the state of Rajasthan . With pride , we can state that MSA has greatly achieved its aim and it is still striving hard to do much better.

CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION

With the commencement of new session , the management arranges and organises a number of seminars and career councelling sessions for students and teachers . Mr.Vivek , a renowned career counsellor conducted a seminar in our school for the students of class X on 28 th April 2017 . It was a very interactive session where they were given guidelines on how to choose career to become successful in life.

SEMINAR BY CREDENT ON CLAT EXAMINATION

On 28th April 2017 , a counselling session for classes XI and XII Commerce was held by renowned people , like Mr. Vivek Pareek , student from IIT Jodhpur , now working as education consultant , Mr. Neeraj Sharma alumini , Gandhinagar University , Mr . Kuber Bhat , Mrs . Reena Parashar and Miss Prapti under the banner of CREDENT enlightened the students how to clear CLAT and become a successful lawyer.

WRITING SKILLS COMPETITION

To improve the writing skills and speaking skills of the students various competitions were held at all levels . Various topics for articles and poems were given to develop passion and creativity among students . Children showcased their talent by writing self composed poems . The subject matter was quite good . All these activities enabled the students to strive towards excellence laying the foundation of better and bright future.

NO HORN DAY

On 26th April 2017, under the able guidance of Mrs. Shirley Masih and Mr.Sangeet Thomas students of NCC and sports stopped the vehicles and pasted stickers to convey the message to blow horn less.It was done to put a control on Noise Pollution.

INAUGRATION OF SCHOOL GYMNASIUM

‘Sophia believes in providing the best.’ Very true to this,our school gymnasium was inaugrated by Rev.Fr.Prasad, Fr.Victor and Fr.Shiju on 17th april 2017. Our Principal Sr.Ramona and our Manager Sr.Sangeeta had put in lot of efforts to bring up the gymnasium yet another feather was added to the Sophian cap and to keep the students fit and healthy.

INITIATION CEREMONY

The office bearers for the students’council were appointed for the session 2017-2018.They were given their respective offices on 1st may 2017 in a solemn ceremony. Sr.Ramona, the Principal entrusted the Head girl and her team the responsibility of maintaining discipline and uphold the name of our school high.Through her speech,she encouraged the girls and urged them to discharge their duties whole heartedly.The Head girl promised that she would do her best and the secretary thanked the management and the staff.

SEMINAR ON CHANGES DURING PUBERTY

Our school invited Dr.Kavya Jain to hold a seminar for the students of classes VI to VIII on 2nd May 2017 to acquaint the students with the changes they undergo. She also guided them how to take care of themselves and to maintain hygiene and remain healthy.

CELEBRATION OF WORKERS’ DAY

Like every year, this year also our workers were honoured for their contribution towards the institution. Along with it,the school bid adieu to our very dear Kayyum Bhayaji and Sheela Baiji. A special prayer service and cultural programme was organised for them. Our management and staff separately gave away the gifts. Sr.Ramona our principal thanked them for their hard work and for extending exemplary services to the institution.

SEMINAR ON ARTS

A Seminar was organised for class X br Mr.Vijay Sharma , CEO OF Kalaneri organisation. Mr. Vijay Kumawat , one of the team members of Kalaneri Organisation aquainted the students about the scope in the field of arts and also shared his experiences. He also demonstrated how to paint using charcoal.

SEMINAR FOR PARENTS

A Seminar was organised by our school to aquaint the parents with the new changes brought in CBSE examination pattern for classes IX and X. It was held on 12th May 2017. Mrs.Aditi Das and Mrs.Pinki Saha,teachers of our school conducted this seminar.

FAREWELL FUNCTION

The school bid adieu to our dear Sisters Sr.Anisha,incharge middle section, Sr.Aruna, incharge Primary section as they got transferred. The programme commenced with a special prayer service and a small cultural programme.One of our teachers Ms. Sanchiya Alexander was also given farewell after her years of service.

FAREWELL TO MA’AM ANJALI FRANCIS

On 13th May,Our school bid adieu to our very senior faculty of pre primary section Mrs.Anjali Francis .The programme started with a special prayer service and cultural programme. Our Principal Sr.Ramona thanked ma’am Anjali Francis for her exempalry contribution to the Institution and conveyed best wishes Ma’am Anjali thanked the Managemen Staff and students for making her journey successful and for making the day a memorable one.

SCHOOL RE-OPENS AFTER SUMMER BREAK

The school reopened after a long summer break on 3rd of july 2017. A special assembly was conducted to welcome the students. Prayers and petitions were said seeking God’s blessings in all the activities which is going to be undertaken during the session. The Management , Staff, students and their families were remembered in the prayers.

TIME TABLE DISPLAY COMPETITION

Our school conducted Time Table display competition for classes VI-XII on 7th July and 8th July, 2017.This activity not only showcased the creativity of children but taught them how to work better as a team. As a result, beautiful and creativity time tables were displayed . Children enjoyed and learnt a lot.

INTERACTIVE SESSION

On July 13 and 14 , the very air of Sophia witnessed a morning filled with Zealand enthusiasm as it started with an interactive and informative session conducted by Rev. Fr. Thomas and hi team. The session focused on Topics like “Forgiveness, Theology of body, how body is a temple of God and many more. It was altogether a different experience. Everything was delivered in a very interesting manner sharing personal experiences. Prayers action songs were included in the session. The session inculcated positive thinking and better ways of living life. Children look forward for such interesting seminars.

CRAFT ACTIVITY

Color Box Academy conducted a craft activity for both classes IX and X in 2 phases . For class X it was conducted on 12th July and 29th July for class IX. The academy sent around 10people to guide the students to make items with paper. They demonstrated and taught creativity. They made jewellery out of quilling. The students enjoyed doing it. They learnt by doing.

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

On 5th August, our school celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan , a festival which reaffirms the affectionate bond between brothers and sisters. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class VIII to X . Special prayers and petitions were offered. A skit was conducted which gave a beautiful message of the bond between brothers and sisters.

SEMINAR ON ROAD SAFETY

On 8th August,2017 Neuro Trauma training regarding post accident and road safety was presented by Nursing superintendent of SMS hospital . Dr. Rajkumar Rajpal. He demonstrated on how to give First aid to the victims of road accident and cardiac arrest . He also acquainted the students about the use of helmet . The session was attended by the students of class IX to XI . It was a very informative and enlightening sessions.

INTER SCHOOL DANCE COMPETITION

Our students of our school participated in the Inter School Indian classical Dance competition and Mime competition. The students put in lot of hard work and creativity and bagged 1st Runner up position in Dance and 3rd position in Mime. It was held at Delhi Public School on 7th August.

HOSTED INTERSCHOOL DANCE COMPETITION

Our school conducted an inter school dance competition on the theme “Desh Rangeela” on 9th August, 2017. Around 20 schools of repute participated giving beautiful message of patriotism and showcasing the best of their talent SUKH SAMRIDDHI CREDIT CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LIMITED sponspored the refreshment to all the participants.

ENGLISH EXCELLENCE DAY

English is the official language in a large number of countries so it is vey important to learn English to communicate and enhance knowledge from these countries .To enhance learning of English among students the English club organized inter house English Excellence Day for XI and XII on 10th August 2017.The competitions consisted of events like dramatic- monologue, self composed poetry and quiz. An effective power point presentation on the usage of English was worth watching and quite informative. On 11th August activities were held for class VI-X. The competitions consisted of dramatic monologue solo and group poem recitation, quiz, drama and debate competition. The children put up their best to make it great success. It promoted among the young brains the utility and importance of English in this world.

INTERSCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Various inter school competitions were organised at Jayshree Periwal International School on 11th August 2017 . Our school participated in the dance and pin board competition. The theme of the dance was “Abstract feelings” through dance. Our school portrayed the theme through their classical dance to the best of their ability and was awarded with a Consolation Prize.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

India celebrated 71st year of its independence on 15th August,2017. To commemorate the sacrifice of our great freedom fighters, ourschool celebrated the independence day with great fervor. The programme started at 8:00 am by hoisting of the National Flag. The Chief Guest was our Provincial Head Sr. Mabel and the Guest of Honour Dr. Prerna Sahni, Editor Dainik Bhaskar who is also an Ex-Angelite. The function consisted of Prayer Service , patriotic songs, dances, speeches, mime and nukkad natak . The air was filled with patriotism . the meritorious students of class X and XII were awarded by our guests Rev. Sr. Mabel congratulated the awards and praised the efforts of the students and the teachers for organising the function and encouraged the students with words of her wisdom. Dr. Perna Sahni shared all her experiences she had in the school. She then thanked Sisters and teachers for their contribution in shaping her and encouraged the students through her speech. Our Principal Sr. Ramona proposed the vote of thanks . The programme concluded with the distribution of chocolates.

VISIT TO VIDHAN SABHA

The students of classes IX and X paid visit to Vidhan Sabha on 16th August,2017. It was organized by DNA newspaper . An officer of Vidhan Sabha briefed them about its architecture and also enlightened them to how the session is held. The students were awestruck at its make and gained good knowledge. It was truly a life time experience.

INTER SCHOOL AMARTYASEN COMMERCE QUIZ

As per the tradition, this year also the Commerce Club of our school conducted Inter school Amartya Sen Commerce Day on 18th August, 2017. It consisted of various competition like Packaging and Labelling , written round, Group Discussion on GST and Demonitisation. 21 schools of the city participated in all the activities and four best teams were qualified for the quiz. Our Provincial Head Sr. Mabel graced the occasion and Mr. Ramesh Maloo an eminent C.A , Ms. Aparna Kuchhol and Ms. Meena Jain were the Guest of Honour for the occasion. Mr. Maloo acquainted the students on GST and Demonitisation. Our Principal Sr. Ramona praised the efforts of the students and teachers who worked hard to make it possible and congratulated the winners.

INTER SCHOOL DANCE FEST AT BUSKER’S INSTITUTE

The students of our school participated in D-Fest interschool dance competition on 21st August, 2017 held at Buskers Institute. Competitions were held in three categories i.e. Classical , Folk and Western. 58 schools of the city participated in thesze categories and showcased their talent . Top 5 schools were selected , our school got selected in the classical category. The competition was telecast in the Zee News. The entire programme was sponsored by Poornima University.

INQUIZITIVE -17

The Mathematics club organized an inter house Maths Quiz Inquizitive 17 for the students of classes Xi and XII on 21st August 2017. The quiz consisted of 6 rounds . Besides these 6 rounds audience round was also conducted to involve and to make the quiz interactive. Besides the quiz , a documentary , riddle and a hilarious video was shown to the students . All the 4 teams performed well but Sapphire House won the quiz. Sr. Ramona , our Principal awarded the certificates to the winners , participants and the volunteers. She enlightened the students with her inspirirng words and appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers.

INTER SCHOOL HUMANITIES DAY

The Humanities Club of our school organized inter school Humanities Day on 23rd August,2017. 20 reputed schools participated in all the events . The events included Character Depiction, Historical Costume depiction, Social-Advertising , Hasya Kavita and Best out of Waste. The students participated with great zeal and performed to the best of their capability. All the participants competed with vigour. There were five judges from various institutes of repute. The students of our school performed very well and bagged prizes in all the events. Sr. Ramona awarded the winners and encouraged the students with the words of her wisdom. All the judges appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students for organizing everything so meticulously. The programme ended with the distribution of refreshments.

INTER SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

On 23rd August,2017 , the students of our school participated in various activities conducted by Maheshwari Public School , the events of the competitions were Youth Parliament, Best out of Waste, Dance Drama, (Cosmetic- The Ad-Mad Show) our school were among the top 6 teams and also qualified for the second round of Youth Parliament.

TEACHER’s DAY CELEBRATION

‘Good Teachers’, are the reason why ordinary students dream to do extraordinary things’.

The Management and students organized a wonderful programme for the teachers to commemorate ‘Teacher’s Day’. Our Manager Sr.Sangeeta, Principal Sr. Ramona and Vice Principal Sr.Daisy with the help of students conducted special Prayer Service a beautiful dance performance followed by a skit to entertain the teachers. The students of class VI to XII participated in various items and performed their best under the able guidance of our dear Sisters.Each teacher was felicitated and bestowed with gifts by the Management. It was a great experience for the students and the teachers enjoyed a lot .Mrs. Stella Peter, on behalf of the staff , thanked the Sisters and students for putting up such a wonderful programme.

OUTING FOR TEACHERS

On 5th of September 2017, the Management took the teaching staff for an outing to Aaraam Bagh Resort in Pushkar. The Journey started around 9:00 am in the morning and reached the destination by 11.30 am. The spot was fabulous. The teachers enjoyed the ambience of the resort, the swimming pool, the rain dance etc. The snacks and lunch served was very sumptuous. Our Manager Sr. Sangeeta, Principal Sr. Ramona and Vice Principal Sr.Daisy organized games for teachers and played ‘Housie’. All the winner were awarded with prizes. The teacher enjoyed a lot and returned back by 9:30 pm.

Literacy Day Celebration

Our school on 8th September celebrated Literacy day , Mother Mary’s Birthday and Girl child Day . A special assembly was conducted with Bible reading and offered prayers and petitions seeking God to liberate the people of our country from the chains of illiteracy and superstitions . A humourous skit was staged to throw light on the importance of education for girl child . The assembly concluded with the words of wisdom by our Principal Sr. Ramona.

Management Day Celebration

“Sisters are the Angels of God on Earth”

To commemorate the solemn occasion of “The Exaltation of the Cross” is celebrated as the Management Day . This year we celebrated it on 13th September,2017. The staff and the students conducted a special prayer service seeking God to bless our dear Sisters who have dedicated their lives for the welfare of the people. A small cultural programme was held to enteratin them. The programme consisted of dances , songs and skit. The programme was good , Sisters appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students . Our Manager Sr. Sangeeta thanked everybody and urged the staff to work unitedly and in a team. We pray God to bless our dear Sisters.

Hindi Diwas Celebrations

“Sisters are the Angels of God on Earth”

“Language is the essence of Mankind” since ages man has drastically transformed from using actions to communicate by and used language for expressing their profound feelings and emotions. Hindi being the National language of our country has emerged from a language to an “Emblem of National Glory”. Therfore 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas to safeguard the language. The Hindi Club of our school conducted a special morning assembly. It commenced with the reading from the scriptures followed by prayers and petitions. The prayer service was followed by poem recitation, character depiction and a humorous act by the students of VI-XII. The assembly concluded with the encouraging words from our dear Principal Sr. Ramona. She urged the students to safeguard the existence of our Mother Tongue.

Badminton Tournament

The badminton tournament for the category of U-14, U-17, U-19 were held from 2nd September to 7th September . The players of our school participated in all the three categories. The team U-14, U-17, U-19 won the first position and Pragya Katara , Preshti Tiwari , Tanvi Pandey, Jesmi Sojan, Saloni Ambwani and Zubia Moil are selected for state level. They will represent our school at the state level . The school is proud of them and look forward for their victory in the forth coming matches. The school appreciated the efforts and excellent guidance by Mr. Vikram Singh Rathore and Mrs. Shirley Masih.

Basket Ball Tornaments

The basketball players of our school participated in the various tornaments under the category of U-14, U-17 and U-19 at St. Edmunds School Malviya Nagar and Sanskar School . The tournament started on 5th September,2017 and concluded on 8th September,2017. Our team under the category of U-14 won the second position and bagged the first position in U-17 category . All credits goes to the efficient and experienced coaches Ms. Anita Meena and Mr. Sangeet Thomas.

Basket Ball Cluster by CBSE

Our school Basketball team participated in the CBSE cluster held at B.L International Smart School Tonk from 12th September to 15th September, 2017. Our team did their best.

Visit to St. Anselm’s School

On 16th September, 2017 St. Anselm’s School Malviya Nagar organized various competitions to commemorate Hindi Divas. Students of our school participated in Hindi hand writing and speech competition.

Celebration of International Peace Day

On 22nd September the students of class XI conducted a special assembly to commemorate the International Peace Day. The assembly commenced with Prayer service seeking God for peace in the families , country and the world. Students recited a beautiful poem on peace. They also presented a mime throwing light on the conditions of the people during curfew which affects the peaceful atmosphere. Through this assembly the students conveyed the message the need of Peaceful and harmony co-existence.

Farewell Function

With heavy heart, the Management ,staff and students bid adieu to the beloved senior teachers of our school Mrs. Manju Sharma and Mrs. Sushila Ghansela on 23rd September, 2017. The programme commenced with special Prayer Service seeking God’s blessings for both of them. The programme consisted of songs, dances and a skit. Our Principal Sr. Ramona thanked them for their exemplary contribution to the institutions and conveyed best wishes. Mrs. Manju Sharma and Mrs. Sushila Ghansela thanked the Management, Staff and students for making their journey successful and for making the day a memorable one.

Campus news for the month of October 2017

Gandhi Jayanti

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti,a Special morning assembly was conducted on 2nd October.The Programme Commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our Vice Principal Sr. Daisy,Mrs. Stella Peter,Mrs. Sharmila Das and Mrs. Kiran Bhanadari.The prayers and petitions were offered for peace and harmony. The students read out a passage on Mahatma Gandhi and lal Bahadur Shastri highlighting on the life and journey of their life.The message”My Life is my message” was emphasied through various activities and bhajans were sung.

Seminar on Child Abuse

On 11th October, 2017, a seminar was conducted on “Child Abuse” for teachers by Dr. Kavita Bhargava, a renowned psychologist. She acquainted the teachers on how and when a child faces abuse, how to identify a child struck with abuse and how to deal with them and help them.

Seminar on Cyber Crime

A seminar was conducted for teachers on Cyber Crime by SHO Mr. Shekhawat, incharge Heerapura Police Station. He briefed the teachers of all the types of Cyber Crime that occur on online transactions, mobile network, online accounts. He acquainted the staff about all possible alertness people need to maintain in order to handle Bank transactions, mobile phones and other social media as they contain records of all personal data.

Diwali Celebrations

The school celebrated Diwali on 14th October, 2017. It began with lighting of the lamp followed by prayers and petitions. The students from class VI to VIII presented beautiful songs and dance. The children were briefed about why and how Diwali is celebrated.

Art Exhibition

The Annual Art Exhibition of the school was held on 28th October, 2017. It was inaugrated by the Principal Sr. Ramona. It was an oppurtunity for the students to showcase their creative skills and talent through the artwork displayed. The school management and parents appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students.

Campus news for the month of November 2017

Workshop on Health and Hygiene

The school always take initative to acquaint the students on health and hygiene. This year also the students of classes VI to XII were guided by the faculty Mrs. Manbhawana Chauhan on a general topic “Hygiene during menstruation.” They were told about the diet and hygiene which ought to be maintained by teenage girls during ovulation.The students were also told about its importance.

Career Orientation

The school arranged for a career orientation session for the students of classes IX and X on 10th November,2017 which was conducted by Mr. Rishabh Khanna, who is a cognitive researcher. The session lasted for over 2 hrs. It was quite an interesting interactive and informative session. The resource person laid emphasis on the fact that one must be passionate about what one wants to do in future. Creative activities were conducted which helped the students understand the importance of formulating their objectives and discussing them. The students enjoyed the session and were highly motivated.

Inter school Competition in T.P.S

AN INTER SCHOOL Commerce Horizon was held at Tagore Public School Shastri Nagar Jaipur on 11 November,2017. The Students of XI and XII commerce of our school participated in two activities. i) Product Launching ii) Advertisement of product (Enactment) Our school bagged 2nd position in product launching and bagged trophies and certificates.

Class Picnics

This year also students of all the classes enjoyed an outing held on various dates class XII were taken to Swapn Lok - Water Park , Jaipur on 4th November,2017. Students of classes VI to VIII were taken to Birla Water Park Ajmer on 10th November and Classes IX and X were taken to Appu Ghar , Jaipur on 25th November,2018. The students were accompanied by the Principal, Vice Principal and teachers. They had a great time. They enjoyed all the slides, rides, pools and dance. They were served with sumptuous food and returned after an amusing trip.

History Exhibition

The History students of classes XI and XII went on an education visit to Tagore Public School on 30th November, 2017 to witness the history exhibition put by them. The students were enlightened to see various creative way of presenting monuments, early civilization and many other incident artefacts. It gave them a powerful and fascinating insight of the dynamic history of the world.

Campus news for the month of December 2017

World Aids Day

A special Assembly was conducted by the students of middle section on 1st December, 2017 to commemorate the World Aids Day. The assembly started with special prayer service for the people who are suffering of HIV- AIDS. The central attraction was a skit conveying the menace of the disease and spread awareness amongst the students about AIDS, the incurable disease. The assembly concluded with an inspiring poem and with words of encouragement by Principal Sr. Ramona.

World Disability Day

On 4th December, 2017 a special assembly was conducted to commemorate the world Disability Day. The assembly was conducted by the students of 9th standard which included prayers for the disabled, a skit and a passage on “Great Achievers who are Disabled.”The assembly conveyed the message to respect and help the disabled. In the end the Principal Sr. Ramona encouraged the students with her words of inspiration.

Annual Sports Day

The school celebrated its Annual sports Day on 16th December, 2018 at SMS Stadium. The function was graced by people of great repute. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Olympian Ms. Krishna Poonia, an Indian Discus Thrower and Arjuna Awardee; Guest of Honour Rev. Fr. Edward Oliviera, Principal St. Anselm’s school Pink City Jaipur; Mr. Virendar Poonia, Dronacharya Awardee; Mr. Gopal Saini, Olympian and Arjuna Awardee. Principal Sr. Ramona extended welcome message to all the dignateries and floral welcome was presented by the Manager Sr. Sangeeta.The sports day was declared open by Mrs. Krishna Poonia by releasing the balloons and lighting of the torch. The function started with a prayer song, followed by well synchronized March Past, fabulous dance performance, demonstration of Taekwando and display of drills by both Primary and High School students. Races were held for both Primary and High School. Winners were awarded by the Guests. The Chief Guest Mrs. Krishna Poonia and Guest of Honour Fr. Edward Oliviera encouraged the students with their inspiring speeches. The Sports Day concluded with vote of thanks by Vice Principal Sr. Daisy and National Anthem was sung.

Visit to Manipal University

The students of XI and XII humanities visited Manipal University on 18th December to attend a counselling session. The students were acquainted with the career options in the field of Fine Arts and Hotel Management. The students learnt many things and enjoyed a lot.

Visit to Mother Teresa Home

The students of class VIII were taken to Mother Teresa Home on 20th December, 2017, to develop empathy for the poor and destitute. The students were moved by the condition of physically and mentally challenged people. The children talked to them and tried to understand their problems and difficulties. The students presented an entertainment programme to make them happy.

Visit to Galta

The students of class XI went for an outreach programme to Galta on 21st Decemeber, 2018. The students performed dances and sang songs to entertain the inmates of the rehabilitation centre, in return they blessed the students and wished them good luck for their future. The school management distributed ration which included 10 Kg Rice, wheat, sugar , soap to every family of the leprosy rehabilitation centre.

Christmas Celebration

On 22nd December, 2018 Christmas was celebrated in the school. The celebration started with prayers and petitions seeking God’s blessings. After prayers, a small cultural programme was organised which consisted of many dances, Christmas carols and a skit that conveyed message of sharing, which is the base of Christmas. Fr. Shibu gave the Christmas message and the principal Sr. Ramona thanked Father. For sparing his valuable time and for the wonderful message of Christmas.

Campus news for the month of January 2018

Session by Suki Kim

An eminent American writer Ms. Suki Kim, came to Jaipur as a resource person for Jaipur Literature Fest 2018. It was a proud privelege that she consented to visit our school she addressed the students on 24th January, 2018. Students of class XI were lucky to be benefited by her talk. She through her speech briefed the students about the importance of English and its scope. She also inspired the students with her encouraging words.

Republic Day Celebration

Our school celebrated the 68th Republic Day on 26th January, 2018 with great pomp and show.The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Shankar Singh (Retd. IPS). The programme commenced with hoisting of the national Flag followed by March Past. After the synchronised March Past prayer service was conducted seeking God’s blessings on the country, its leader and the people. A small cultural programme was organised which contained patriotic songs dances and speeches in English and Hindi. The air was filled with patriotism. The Chief Guest encouraged the students with his inspiring words and appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers. Outstanding students in the field of sports were awarded on the occasion by the Chief Guest. The programme concluded with the words of gratitude by the principal Sr. Ramona. Sweets were also distributed to the students.

Farewell of class XII

Following the tradition of the yester years. Our school bade farewell to the outgoing students of class XII on 27th January,2018. Students of class XII and their parents were invited to witness the programme. The programme started with the prayer service followed by a variety programme put up by the students of class XI. The students were conferred with various titles and were awarded for the same. Even the office bearers of class XII passed the flame of responsibility to the students of class XI. Each student was presented with the memento as a memoir. The Head Girl Yashvi Sharma and the Secretary Sapna Lyall expressed words of gratitude. The Principal Sr. Ramona encouraged them and urged to carry the values which they learnt in the school and wished them good luck for their forth coming exams and for future endeavours.

Farewell to Mrs. Kikku Chug

With heavy heart the school bade farewell to our beloved teacher Mrs. Kikku Chugh of Pre- Primary. She completed 22 years of her dedicated services to the institution. The farewell programme was held on 3rd February,2018. The theme of the programme was “Colours of the Rainbow.” Each colour of the rainbow was symbolized with ma’am’s contribution.The programme started with a prayer service, where teachers of primary and high school offered prayers for maam to lead a restful life in future.

The students of KinderGarten presented two melodious songs and a theme based skit was also presented by them.Two dance performances one from primary and one from High School was presented.A power point presentation was put up which highlighted Maam Kikku’s journey of the school. She was felicitated with flowers, bouquets and gifts by the Management and staff. Mrs. Pauline Yesudas, through her address cited the contribution and achievements of Mrs. Kikku Chug. The Principal, Sr. Ramona praised and thanked ma’am for her contribution to the institution and wished her best of everything. Ma’am Kikku was overwhelmed by the celebration and thanked everyone for assisting her through her journey.The programme concluded with asumptuous lunch.
